Sue has always had a great interest in art. After starting in the work force, she won a scholarship with Art Instruction Schools of Minneapolis, which she worked on part time by mail. She dabbled with painting, photography and a variety of crafts. And in those rare quiet moments she sketched.
Susan and her husband moved to Espanola when they retired. She saw an ad for a watercolor class, decided to try it and never looked back. It brought back wonderful memories of her youth and early painting days. Now it has become part of what she is.
Sue finds her muse in the landscape and wildlife of rural Ontario and out on the waters of the North Channel. Sue continues to upgrade her skills though workshops and online courses and studies with Ivan Wheale. Susan works in watercolor, oil and acrylics, as well as drawing and photography.
She has sold her work at the La Cloche Art Show, Manitoulin Art Tour, local area art shows and privately. Her art has been selected to tour with the Northern Ontario Art Assoc. Sue is currently a member of the Manitoulin Fine Arts Assoc. and the Northern Ontario Art Assoc.
